Our Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i program is focused on connecting keiki with ‘āina and ‘ike kūpuna to set the foundation for embracing their Hawaiian identity. The Kapālama campus is the homebase for this week-long residential experience for students entering Grade 6.
Throughout the week, students engage in hands-on cultural learning activities with our staff and community partners during the day and then return to our campus dormitories with our residential life ‘ohana at night to rest and prepare for their next adventure. At the end of the week, students showcase their learning at our Friday Ho‘olaule‘a celebration with mele and hula.
The application for the 2025 Ho‘omāka‘ika‘i program opens Jan. 2, 2025, and closes Feb. 15, 2025. Check application status.
Kamehameha Schools’ admissions policy is to give preference to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry to the extent permitted by law. If you would like your keiki to be considered under that policy, your keiki’s Hawaiian ancestry must be verified by Kamehameha’s Ho‘oulu Verification Services (HVS).
