Kaʻiwakīkahalani, composed by the senior haku mele cohort Uahiapele, journeys through the three ahupuaʻa of Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha — Kapālama, ʻAʻapueo, and Keaʻau — honoring Ke Aliʻi Pauahi's enduring love and legacy across the lāhui. KS Kapālama Po’o Kula Dr. Punihei Lipe introduced former President Barack Obama today at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. As a member of the Obama Foundation’s inaugural Leaders Asia-Pacific Cohort, Dr. Lipe joined leaders from across the region in exploring how leadership can create positive change in communities. Her participation in this historic moment highlights the impact of ʻOiwi leadership and the many ways Native Hawaiian leaders are helping shape the future.
