Our lāhui will continue to face challenges that threaten the ea of our people and ‘āina. How we choose to respond to those threats - through aloha - is what defines us. Without aloha, behaviors that are rooted in anger and hate will undo what our kupuna fought for. Generations of aloha ‘āina have set the example for our keiki to stand firmly against oppression. Our keiki will learn to make that stand with aloha. Learn about what we stand for  at www.ksbe.edu/ola #olapauahi #kapualoha

Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha Kapālama and our preschools and offices on Oʻahu have closed today due to the storm. Our Maui Resource Center has also closed. These closures were made in response to current conditions, are aligned with government announcements and evacuation orders, and are intended to provide for the safety and well-being of our haumāna, ʻohana, and staff as heavy rains and flooding continue across the islands. All other campuses, preschools, and offices on Kauaʻi, Maui Nui, and Hawaiʻi Island remain open today during standard business hours. Individual campuses and sites will continue sharing updates directly with their stakeholders regarding any changes to activities, events, or programs scheduled during this storm-impacted period.  We will continue to monitor conditions closely and remain in communication with emergency and government officials, and will provide updates as necessary. We encourage everyone to stay informed through state and local weather updates, prepare and mālama your ʻohana, and look out for one another and your communities during this storm.

Offices across the pae ʻāina for Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha will reopen tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026. KS campuses and preschools will continue normal Spring Break operations, with haumāna and kumu away from classes. We mahalo our haumāna, ʻohana and staff for your patience, flexibility and care for one another as the recent Kona storm moved through our islands. We also recognize that many in our communities experienced severe damage and other impacts from the weather, and we extend our deepest aloha to all who have been affected.
