Offices across the pae ʻāina for Ke Kula ‘o Kamehameha will reopen tomorrow, Monday, March 16, 2026. KS campuses and preschools will continue normal Spring Break operations, with haumāna and kumu away from classes. We mahalo our haumāna, ʻohana and staff for your patience, flexibility and care for one another as the recent Kona storm moved through our islands. We also recognize that many in our communities experienced severe damage and other impacts from the weather, and we extend our deepest aloha to all who have been affected.

With the safety and well-being of our haumāna, ʻohana and staff at the top of our mind, Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha campuses, preschool sites and offices on Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi and Maui will be closed tomorrow, Friday, March 13, 2026. This decision aligns with state and county closures and follows the guidance of government and emergency officials as the Kona storm continues to impact these islands.
At this time, Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha campuses, preschool sites and offices on Hawaiʻi Island will remain open tomorrow. We will continue to monitor conditions closely and remain in communication with emergency and government officials. If conditions change, decisions regarding Hawaiʻi Island sites will be communicated directly and immediately to those communities.   Individual campuses and sites will also be sharing updates regarding any changes to activities, events or programs scheduled during this time.

What holds us together in Hawaiʻi? What holds us together in Hawaiʻi is more than participation—it’s belonging, care, and connection to one another and to place. Our latest ʻImi Pono publication, Community Connections in Hawaiʻi, shares how these forms of connection shape wellbeing across our islands and influence decisions about staying rooted in Hawaiʻi, especially for Native Hawaiians. And we’re just getting started. The 2026 ʻImi Pono Hawaiʻi Wellbeing Survey launches March 20. Your voice helps shape what we understand about connection, wellbeing, and life in Hawaiʻi.
